Research indicates that the aerobics interval class is the fastest, most effective method of exercise around today. STEPS - Utica College Physical Therapy Students Wednesdays 10:45 am UC Students, supervised by faculty, evaluate members, work on balance, take blood pressure and more! Great free program! Does Not Run In The Summer TAI CHI Instructor: Lena Martell Day and Time: Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 (Minimum to run class 6) Cost per session: $35.00 ($40 for non-members) Tai Chi helps develop balance and coordination, improves concentration and awareness and increases flexibility and strength in both mind and body. YOGA/PILATES Instructor: Diann Gorea Day and Time: Friday at 10:00am Cost: $35.00 ($40.00 for non-members) (Min to run class is 7) This program will incorporate Yoga and Pilates all in one. Yoga is a gently stretching exercise that incorporates flexibility, strengthening, balance, coordination and relaxation. Pilates is an innovative system of mind-body exercise that teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain. Stay Young / Strong Bones Instructor: Doreen Markson Day and Time: Monday at 1:00 (14 weeks each semester) Cost: $30.00 ($35.00 for non-members) (min to run class is 5) This course is based on research on how strength training and proper nutrition improve the health of people of all ages. Doctor's approval is required and you will receive an approval form when you register for the program. SILVER SNEAKERS FITNESS PROGRAM-MUSCULAR STRENGTH & RANGE OF MOVEMENT Days and Times: Wednesday & Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 am Cost: $30.00 (Free to Silver Sneaker Members & Growing Strong Members) Multi-level, equipment-based, total body conditioning classes are designed to increase strength and flexibility. Participants move to the music through a variety of exercises for the upper and lower body, including skills for daily living activities. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are provided for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. INDOOR/OUTDOOR TENNIS Instructor: Ed Jackson Day and Time: Monday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Cost: Free to Members ($10.00 for non-members) Welcome Back to Tennis!! Enjoy tennis indoors!
